INDEPENDENT LIVING

Thriving Confidently: A Path to Self-Sufficiency

The Independent Living Program supports adults with IDD who can live semi-independently but benefit from additional assistance. While there is not overnight or weekend supervision, residents can access staff by phone in case of emergencies. Our individuals in this program enjoy the benefits of an independent yet supported lifestyle.

Key features of Independent Living include:

  • Personalized Support Plans: Tailored assistance based on each individual’s needs, focusing on enhancing independence and life skills.
  • Daily Living Skills Development: Training and support in areas such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and managing medical appointments.
  • Flexible Assistance: Regular weekday support with no overnight or weekend supervision, though staff are accessible by phone for emergencies.
  • Community Engagement: Encouragement to participate in local events, activities, and employment opportunities, fostering integration and social connections.
  • Safety and Emergency Access: While residents live independently, they have access to staff for guidance and emergency support when needed.

These services empower individuals with IDD to lead more autonomous lives, build confidence, and actively participate in their communities, all while ensuring they have the support needed to thrive.
