SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

Building An Inclusive Workforce Together

The unemployment rate for individuals with disabilities, including those with IDD, is significantly higher than for individuals without disabilities. While approximately 64.6% of individuals without disabilities are employed, only 19.1% of individuals with disabilities are in the workforce, with employment rates for individuals with IDD often even lower. At Sunshine Services, we are committed to addressing this disparity by partnering with businesses to create inclusive employment opportunities and help build a more equitable workforce.

Our team works closely with employers to understand their needs and ensure successful placements, fostering long-term partnerships that benefit both the employees and the businesses they join. Employers who hire individuals with IDD often find that these employees bring reliability, dedication, and a positive impact to their workplace culture.

For individuals seeking employment, we take a person-centered approach, beginning by identifying their unique skillsets and career interests. We assist them in finding and applying for suitable roles while providing interview preparation to boost confidence and readiness.

Once hired, Sunshine offers comprehensive, ongoing support to ensure success for both the employee and the employer. This includes on-the-job training, continuous coaching, and guidance on building positive relationships with supervisors and coworkers. Our partnerships extend beyond placement, ensuring businesses have access to resources and expertise to sustain an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

By maintaining these meaningful business relationships and tailoring support to individual needs, Sunshine Services bridges the gap between talent and opportunity.
